Petal + Seed is a small farm in Ashland, Oregon that specializes in growing fresh, seasonal flowers. Nestled under the ponderosa pines of the Siskiyou Mountains, we produce romantic blooms without the use of harsh chemicals or pesticides. We are passionate about preserving the natural beauty of southern Oregon and love working alongside our native bees, birds, squirrels, and other wildlife.
Petal + Seed is owned and operated by Lucy Einbinder (Whitridge), who has lived in Ashland since 2007. During her time in this area, Lucy has earned her Master’s degree in Environmental Education at Southern Oregon University and taught high school biology in Medford. Lucy is passionate about her community and region, and loves spending her free time outside digging in the dirt and tending her seedlings.
Lucy's interest in flowers began at an early age when her grandmother and mother shared with her their love of gardening. Some of Lucy's most memorable childhood experiences were picking colorful, edible flowers for salads with her grandmother and making elaborate flower arrangements for the dinner table at the family farm on Orcas Island in the Puget Sound.
Lucy studied Agroecology for her undergraduate degree at University of California in Santa Cruz and has worked on countless farms throughout her life. Recently she studied floral design in Washington's beautiful Skagit Valley at Floret Farm, one of the nation’s leading farmer-florist operations. Petal + Seed was born from Lucy's desire to develop a garden that provides wildlife habitat and stunning flowers fresh from the garden to the community.
Petal + Seed collaborates with its clients to provide romantic, fragrant, heirloom flowers and custom arrangements for weddings and events. We also offer flower subscriptions for your home or business, with the option of custom arrangements or buckets of mixed flowers and foliage for hand-crafting bouquets yourself.
